U.S. Accounting Firm Selects Colligo to Improve Professional Productivity & Client Service

Vancouver, BC, October 1, 2007 –  Colligo Networks, a leader in desktop collaboration solutions, today announced that Crowe Chizek and Company LLC has chosen Colligo Contributor™ for SharePoint® to support offline access to SharePoint for more than 2,300 personnel. By synchronizing SharePoint sites to their laptops, Contributor will give Crowe Chizek professionals instant access to business information and processes managed with SharePoint while they are out of the office on client engagements, travelling, or working from home. The firm expects that Contributor will help them save time, streamline engagements, and improve client service.

Crowe Group LLP, parent company of Crowe Chizek, is one of the top 10 accounting and consulting firms in the U.S. – it is also a leader in adopting technology to maintain a competitive edge. In an effort to continuously improve professional productivity and deliver superior client service, the firm has been migrating multiple business processes to Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server 2007. In addition to its Intranet, the firm uses SharePoint to support project management, team collaboration, client extranets, and knowledge management. But for accounting firms like Crowe, supporting offline activities for professionals on client engagements is critical, so they cannot rely on SharePoint alone.

“Our professionals can spend 30 hours a week away from the office. They often find themselves disconnected from critical business information and processes,” said Cornelius J. van Dyk, Microsoft MVP and SharePoint architect at Crowe Chizek. “So as the firm moves more of its business processes to SharePoint … our mobile professionals are finding they need reliable and consistent access to critical information wherever they are working.“

Colligo Contributor is an easy-to-deploy .NET client application that allows professional staff at Crowe to synchronize content stored in SharePoint sites to a local encrypted data store on their laptops. It can increase productivity by enabling users to instantly and securely access, modify, and create SharePoint content online and offline through a rich client interface.

“We started with a Contributor pilot group of 50 users,” reported van Dyk. “The Colligo Contributor desktop client provides the same user interface for our professionals whether they are connected to the network or working offline. It drastically improved their productivity by giving them ready access to the business information they needed on client engagements. In addition to documents, Contributor allows our professionals to take SharePoint elements such as custom lists, metadata, and views offline. Microsoft Excel® content, including formulas and links between spreadsheets, is fully functional regardless of connectivity.”

Based on the pilot, Crowe is planning on deploying Colligo Contributor firm-wide. “Contributor will allow our professionals to stay connected to business information and processes managed through SharePoint,” comments van Dyk. “Contributor will help Crowe Chizek save time, streamline engagements, and improve the quality of our client service.”

“We’re honored that Crowe Chizek has again chosen to deploy one of our desktop collaboration products,” says Barry Jinks, President and CEO of Colligo Networks. “For years the audit teams at Crowe Chizek have been using our Workgroup Edition software for instant peer-to-peer collaboration and file sharing while on client engagements. We’re very pleased they will now be using Contributor firm-wide to support the offline requirements of their professional staff.”
