Email Management Solution for SharePoint Unveils Support for Collaboration in the Cloud

Washington, DC, March 24, 2011 – AIIM International Conference and Expo @ Info360 – Colligo Networks Inc., the world’s leading provider of client-based email and document management solutions for Microsoft SharePoint, today announced that their Colligo Contributor software suite is the industry’s first to support Microsoft Office 365, which includes SharePoint Online. Colligo Contributor now enables seamless integration between Microsoft Outlook, Windows Explorer and online SharePoint environments, as well as transparent access to hybrid cloud and on-premise SharePoint environments through a “SharePoint-aware” desktop.

The Colligo Contributor suite drives SharePoint adoption by enabling users to easily access, capture, and tag SharePoint content from popular desktop applications, including Microsoft Outlook and Windows Explorer. Employees can instantly create, view, modify SharePoint documents, forms, lists, and metadata—online and offline—including the ability to drag-and-drop email and attachments directly from Outlook to SharePoint.

Office 365 is Microsoft’s next-generation suite of productivity tools, combining Microsoft Office, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Lync Online in an always-up-to-date cloud service. SharePoint Online provides a single, integrated location that team members can access from anywhere, on virtually any device, and enables simple, highly secure collaboration with others both inside and outside the organization.

Contributor’s support for Office 365 was demonstrated by Microsoft during a presentation on “Innovative Enterprise Content Management with SharePoint 2010” at the 2011 AIIM International Conference and Expo @ Info360. The presentation highlighted Contributor’s drag-and-drop capabilities, showcasing the ability to move content to SharePoint libraries located on-premise or in the cloud from within the familiar Outlook interface.

During his presentation, Nishan DeSilva, Director of Information Management & Compliance, Microsoft Legal & Corporate Affairs, spoke of Contributor’s ability to support adoption of compliance-driven, document, contract, and records management solutions utilizing SharePoint Online. Said DeSilva, “Contributor provides a seamless experience, so you won’t have to retrain your users when you migrate to SharePoint Online. With Contributor, they can drag and drop content to the cloud, without knowing that it’s in the cloud.”

“SharePoint Online allows companies of all sizes to take advantage of enterprise-class communication and collaboration capabilities; most significantly, the ability for users to access critical content such as emails, attachments, and documents—regardless of their location or device,” said Trevor Dyck, Director, Product Management, Colligo Networks. “Colligo Contributor allows content to be accessed directly from Outlook or Windows Explorer in exactly the same way, whether the content resides on-premise, in the cloud, or in a hybrid environment. By allowing employees to work the way they always have, in the tools they use every day, companies moving to the cloud can significantly speed user adoption, resulting in increased efficiency and a more quickly realized ROI.”
