New Release Unveiled at Microsoft TechEd 2012 Spotlights Colligo Networks’ Commitment to SharePoint Users’ Productivity
Vancouver, BC and Orlando, FL, June 11, 2012 – Colligo Networks, the leading provider of SharePoint apps for email and document management, today announced the release of Launchpad, available in Colligo Email Manager 5.4. Launchpad gives users the ability to add icons to the Outlook 2010 ribbon, providing one-click access to frequently-used websites, favorite social networking sites, and web applications, right within Outlook.
Colligo Email Manager is the leading solution for managing Microsoft SharePoint content from within Microsoft Outlook. Featuring seamless SharePoint/Outlook integration, Colligo Email Manager makes it fast and easy to file, tag, find, view, and share email and attachments in SharePoint, from within the familiar Outlook interface.
Key functionality available in Launchpad includes:
- Access to web-based applications, including social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, without leaving Outlook,
- Ability to customize the Outlook ribbon with links to frequently-visited sites
- Centralized administration and control for IT managers, with configuration on a per-user or departmental basis
- Configurable icons, names, and groups
- Ability to manage URLs in groups according to business or project needs
“By adding Launchpad to Colligo Email Manager, we’ve made Outlook even more valuable to SharePoint users,” said Trevor Dyck, Director, Product Management, Colligo Networks. “Using Outlook as the single access point to SharePoint, websites, and web apps eliminates the context-switching that can erode worker productivity. It’s also painless to configure, so users can have their favorites at the fingertips within seconds.”
Colligo Email Manager 5.4 adds a number of new features in addition to Launchpad, including support for Business Connectivity Services (BCS). BCS enables SharePoint users to apply metadata from external data stored in line-of-business systems such as SAP, Siebel, and PeopleSoft, so that data does not need to be recreated, saving time and improving productivity. The feature also enables users to tag, view, and find content that utilizes external data, improving discoverability.
Colligo unveiled Colligo Email Manager 5.4 today at Microsoft TechEd North America 2012, the premiere conference for technology professionals who use Microsoft technologies. Colligo Briefcase, the secure SharePoint app for the Apple iPad, is a finalist for the Best of TechEd Awards, honouring the most innovative products and services featured at the conference.
