“Once a year, Gartner analysts become cool hunters. We set out to identify a crop of vendors who are doing something different and interesting. Sometimes they’re turning a business problem on its ear, thinking about it differently. Sometimes they’re exploiting emerging technologies in an innovative way. Sometimes they’re simply putting together a set of ordinary pieces in ways that others have not.” Jake Sorofman, Research Director, Gartner
Specifically, the analysts felt for 2013, “the five cool vendors in content management… are focused on providing solutions to support content on the go, improved collaboration capabilities and more effective management of the applications delivering the content”.
In the report, analyst Gavin Tay, says about Colligo: “Colligo addresses the increased necessity of dealing with a variety of content on the go. Bring your own device (BYOD) is one of the driving forces, while the increasing need to collaborate beyond the firewall is another… Embracing BYOD while maintaining control of corporate data requires a fine balance between flexibility and control. For flexibility, Colligo provides central server configuration and deployment of content by establishing user “personas” that are pushed out to the devices a user chooses.”
