Investing in mobility continues to top the IT agenda for 2017. According to IDC’s 2016 Mobile Enterprise Devices, Security, Services and Solutions Survey, 65% of enterprises plan to increase mobility spending this year, purchasing mobile devices for employees, while adding application security and content security solutions.
While investments are going up, IT will need to make wise choices to achieve their mobility goals. Prior investments have not always reaped expected results. “Cost savings and security risk mitigation are the biggest drivers of mobile device deployment strategies,” said Bryan Bassett, Research Analyst at IDC. “But with 48% of enterprises not seeing improvement in their BYO cost savings and 30% citing security problems with mobile app deployments, IT management must inspect strategies for improvements.”
For enterprises that have standardized on SharePoint, there’s good news on the mobility front, with opportunities for both cost savings and security risk mitigation!
IT can leverage their existing investment in SharePoint (or Office 365 or OneDrive for Business) – where their enterprise content is already centralized and governed – saving both time and money. Implemented within days, Colligo Engage can then mobilize that enterprise content, governed by SharePoint’s security and EMS policies. IT together with line-of-business owners can implement sophisticated mobile solutions that add governance, workflows, auditing, compliance and reporting, while meeting the needs of their mobile workers for super easy access to enterprise content across their devices.
SharePoint and Colligo Engage provide a quick win for driving down the cost of mobilizing business content while meeting the strictest standards for security. That topic is explored in Microsoft’s recently published eBook, “Better Together: Mobilizing Your Enterprise with SharePoint and Colligo Engage.”
The new eBook also features highlights from recent success stories. Today, the world’s #2 leader in wines and spirits – with global brands that include Chivas Regal® Scotch Whisky, Absolut® Vodka, Martell® Cognac and Mumm™ Champagne – relies on SharePoint and Colligo Engage to keep executives in the know, around the world. “When we started, our CEO said he wanted us to have the full project completed in only a few months,” said David Lepicier, Business Intelligence Director at Pernod Ricard. “We were able to complete the project in a few weeks and for less than $50,000. Colligo is a proven SharePoint partner, and it made our decision to select them easy.”
