Using Prosystem fx Engagement over the Colligo Instant Network

While using Prosystem fx Engagement over the Colligo Instant Network, errors may occur when trying to access or synchronize with other computers.

In some cases, this problem occurs because the Prosystem ports are missing from the Windows Firewall exceptions list. If you are using Windows Firewall and you encounter this issue, please try the following steps:

1. Enter the Colligo Instant Network.

2. Go to Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Exceptions > Add Port

3. If they are not present, add the following ports to the list of exceptions:

a. Pfxsynpfxservice : TCP 6736
b. Desktopsyncservice : TCP 6735
c. MSSQLPROFXENGAGEMENT : TCP 2029
d. SQL UDP : UDP 1434

4. Click OK to close Windows Firewall.

The same exceptions are also required if you are using a third-party firewall package, other than Windows Firewall.

If the ports were previously added and the issue is still occuring, it is important to make sure the scope of each of these exception ports is set to “Any Computers”. In order to verify or change the scope settings, double click on the exception name and click “Change Scope…”.

This article applies to Prosystem fx Engagement version 4.5.
