Colligo Networks Issued U.S. Patent
on Peer-to-Peer Authentication

Additional Applications Currently in Process at the USPTO

Vancouver, BC, February 18, 2008 – Colligo Networks Inc., a leader in desktop collaboration solutions, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has approved the issuance of a patent, No. 7,293,284, filed on December 31, 2002, for the Company’s peer-to-peer authentication technology. This is the first patent issued to the Company and additional applications are currently in process at the USPTO.

The invention has been used in several of the Company’s products for over five years, most notably Colligo Workgroup Edition. It enables end users to more efficiently exchange digital certificates with each other to confirm their identity prior to securely synchronizing data. In contrast with traditional methods that require users to compare up to 40 hexadecimal digits, this invention reduces the size of the digital fingerprint while still providing an acceptable level of security, so that familiar words or symbols can be used. This reduces the complexity of authentication, thereby increasing adoption leading to more secure data exchanges.

A key market segment using this technology is professional services firms. Hundreds of small and large firms – including PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, and Grant Thornton – use the Colligo products to improve collaboration and productivity while at client engagements. Engagement teams can instantly and securely synchronize, network, and share files and resources. With Colligo Workgroup Edition, client data is protected using IPSec encryption, ensuring a high level of security and control.

Colligo Networks has filed several other applications covering novel aspects of the Company’s synchronization and collaboration software technologies. “We are very proud of the innovations that our developers produced during the creation of our great products,” said Dave Foster, VP of Product Development at Colligo Networks. “Our strategy is to protect those inventions with patents so the company can derive maximum benefit for our shareholders over the coming years.”
