Colligo Networks to Make Mobile Teams More Productive with Support for IBM Workplace Client Technology
Instant Networking plug-in will enable workgroups to securely share and synchronize data even when disconnected from the server
New York, May 10, 2004 - Recognizing the collaboration challenges faced by occasionally connected mobile teams, Colligo Networks, a leading provider of instant networking software, today announces support for the IBM Workplace Client Technology in its upcoming product, Colligo Enterprise Edition. Scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2004, the Colligo Enterprise Edition Plug-in will enable secure and private client-to-client messaging and database replication, extending a wide range of enterprise applications in the IBM Workplace Client Technology framework.

Colligo's instant networking technology is accessed through an intuitive process of "Discover, Connect and Interact". On the desktop, the Colligo user interface will be fully integrated into the IBM Workplace user interface to provide a seamless experience, whilst adding a new level of connectivity for mobile workgroups. Colligo's Enterprise Edition IBM Workplace plug-in is introducing the following client-to-client networking features:
- Instant Network Control: allows users to securely and efficiently discover, authenticate and communicate with team members even when the team is disconnected from the server;
- Cross-Platform Support: interoperates with Colligo users on different device types (e.g. handhelds and tablets) and Operating Systems (e.g. PocketPC ®);
- Presence and Status: featured inside the IBM Workplace Client Technology, a Colligo-based "Neighbor List" to allow team members to interact with users and resources (e.g. printers) around them;
Messaging and File Transfer: access for users to message, whiteboard, chat and share files;
- Database Replication: replication of Lotus ® Notes ® (.nsf files) and other databases directly client-to-client, without the need to access the server, and;
- Server Integration: a key feature of Colligo Enterprise Edition is integration with corporate security policies, including certificate-based authentication and the ability for corporations to track disconnected transactions.
Colligo Enterprise Edition will be available to enterprise customers in the fourth quarter of 2004.
